Dr. Jianfeng Zhou is the Assistant Professor at Georgia Tech Shenzhen Institute, Tianjin University, and the Adjunct Assistant Professor at Georgia Tech. He holds a B.S. degree in Water Science & Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology (2015). He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from University of Washington (2017) and Georgia Tech (2021), respectively, both in Environmental Engineering. Jianfeng was a research associate at BioLargo Engineering in 2019. His research focuses on the development of innovative materials and processes for sustainable water treatment and disinfection. He has a broad research interest in environmental nanotechnology, novel energy sources, and sustainable engineering and development. He has published 14 papers in peer-reviewed journals including Environmental Science & Technology, Water Research, and Advanced Energy Materials, and holds 2 U.S. patents. He is the recipient of ACS Environmental Chemistry Graduate Student Award, Sigma Xi Ph.D. Thesis Award, and many national and international awards. He is an expert board member of the China Energy Society and the Chinese Graduate Student Innovation Competition, “Dual Carbon” Subsection. He is an editorial board member of the journal Colloids and Surfaces C: Environmental Aspects.
